Alumni of the Tennessee Technology Center are special people. They have achieved an accomplishment that can never be replaced because they have applied themselves and gone the distance in obtaining an education that will give them the extra edge they need to land the career they have always wanted. Hands-on, specialized training is what the world is looking for and graduates of the Tennessee Technology Center at Paris have what it takes to make a valuable employee.
Each quarter, we would like to honor a special alumni of our Center by placing them in our spotlight and telling everyone about their accomplishments and job related career they have accepted due to their education at TTCP. We want them to feel special as well as give those who are still in school and those of you who need to enroll an incentive to reach your dreams.
Brad White, TTCP Assistant Director, congratulates TTCP Robotics Instructor, Roger Laird, as the Outstanding Alumni for the Tennessee Technology Center at Paris during the Fall, 2000 graduation ceremony. |
Roger Laird began his tenure with TTCP as a student in the Plumbing/Pipefitting program. The previous instructor recommended Roger without reservation when he retired. Roger taught Plumbing until he became the Industrial Maintenance instructor in 1998. He brought this program off monitor status the 1st year. The Center opened the Robotics Program and Roger completed training through an industry in Michigan, set up the curriculum and the 1st graduating class walked the line during the Spring 2000 graduation ceremony. Roger has become an EMT, taught first aid/CPR and many other supplemental classes. He has been an asset to the school and the community. Roger has a strong work ethic and takes pride in his work. We are proud of the fact that he is one of our own. |
